The
Serpent’s Shadow by Rick Riordan
This
is an enjoyable wrap-up to a great series about the Kane family. The relationships between the characters, the
Egyptian history that is found throughout, and the adventures are fabulous. While this installment may seem to lag in the
middle, do not worry because it ends with a bang as Sadie, Walt, and the other magicians
use their intellect and skills to try and save the world from the chaos serpent
Apophis. This book can be found in the
juvenile section under J RIO and is recommended for families with children in 4th
grade and above. Also, try listening to
the whole series on CD as narrators Katherine Kellgren and Kevin R. Free do an
amazing job. The CD version can be found
in the juvenile section under C J RIO.
