Family story times are designed for families with children of all ages. Children must be accompanied by a participating adult. These programs feature stories, music, rhymes and a free craft activity. Saturday story times are typically a repeat of that week's story times.
Special Library Programs:
Bunny Buddies
Wednesday, April 9 @ 4:00 pm RT Jones Library
Real live rabbit ambassadors from the House Rabbit Society are hopping into our library! After we learn about these fascinating little creatures, we'll be able to interact with them. This program is for families of all ages.
LEGO Club
Saturday, April 12 @ 2 pm Gilmer County Public Library
The
LEGO Club has a different theme each month. Children can work alone or
in teams to make their special creation, which will be displayed in the
library until next month's meeting. All
ages are invited; 9 and under must be accompanied by an adult
Reading Dogs
Ball Ground Public Public Library April 21
Hickory Flat Public Library April 8, 15, 22, 29
Pickens County Public Library April 24
Rose Creek Public Library April 9, 16, 23, 20
RT Jones Library April 21
Woodstock Public Library April 16, 23, 30
These 10-15 minute programs encourage children 6 years of age and older to read by providing a non-judgmental, furry listener who won't laugh if you make mistakes or stumble over a word. Parents can register their child two weeks ahead for one session by calling the corresponding library. Children are asked to select their own reading material before their scheduled session. Call your local Cherokee and Pickens County Public Libraries to reserve your spot for one of our Reading Dog programs.
