*All story times begin promptly at scheduled time; please arrive early to avoid any disruption. These programs often feature books, songs and activities that encourage early literacy. Family story times are designed for families with children of all ages. Children must be accompanied by a participating adult. These programs often feature stories, music, rhymes and a free craft activity.

Cherokee History and Culture Traveling Trunk

Join Donna Myers as she tells us some fun facts about Cherokee history and culture featuring Sequoyah's syllabary - the Cherokee alphabet - and artifacts. Registration is required. This program is for ages 6 and up; 9 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Fairy/Elf House

Join us as we decorate awesome fairy/elf houses. This is a free program, and all materials will be provided. Registration is required. This program is for ages 8 and up; 9 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
 
Are You a Dragonfly?
Pickens County Public Library
Tuesday, June 11 @ 10:30 am
Join us as Kevin Smith of the Upper Etowah River Alliance teaches us about the life cycle of a dragonfly using the book Are You a Dragonfly? Afterwards, participants will have the opportunity to construct their own colorful dragonfly. Space is limited; registration is required. This program is for ages 5-8.

Magic Tooth Fairy Show

Luna the Tooth Fairy is bringing her magic to the library! She'll show us her tricks and teach us the importance of eating right, taking care of ourselves and having a sparkling smile! All ages are invited to attend. Space is limited, so arrive early to reserve your spot.

Book Time with Ronald McDonald

Ronald McDonald is in town to read us stories and focus on the importance and FUN of knowing how to read and use the library, compliments of McDonald's of Canton. All ages are invited to attend. Space is limited, so arrive early to reserve your spot.

What is Soil?

Join us as we host the Pickens County Master Gardeners for a series of educational programs. This program will teach youth about soil composition using fun foods like peanut butter, cookies, and sugar. Attendees will also have the opportunity to make plant pots out of newspapers. All materials will be provided, and all ages are invited to attend; registration is required. 

Southeastern Snake Encounter

Saturday, June 15 @ 10:00 am
Snakes of all kinds are coming to the library! Southeastern Reptile Rescue will educate us about different snakes and reptiles in this fun and educational program. Live snakes will be present. All ages are invited to attend; 9 and under must be accompanied by an adult. This program is sponsored by the Jasper Lions Club.
