*All story times begin promptly at scheduled time; please arrive early to avoid any disruption. These programs often feature books, songs and activities that encourage early literacy. Family story times are designed for families with children of all ages. Children must be accompanied by a participating adult. These programs often feature stories, music, rhymes and a free craft activity.

Monday, June 24

Fossil Features
3:00 pm Pickens County Public Library
Have you ever seen a real fossil? Youth ages 7-12 are invited to view and learn about fossils, courtesy of the Tellus Science Museum. Following the viewing, participants will be able to design their own fossil. Space is limited; registration is required.

Native American Fan Craft
3:00 pm Gilmer County Public Library
Join us as Leslie Thomas shows us how to make beautiful Native American fans. This is a free program, and all materials will be provided. Registration is required. For ages 6 and up; 9 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
 
Tuesday, June 25
Nature Scrapbooks
10:00 am Gilmer County Public Library
Join us as we decorate neat nature scrapbooks for recording and keeping the treasures you find on your nature walks.  This is a free program, and all materials will be supplied.  Registration is required. For ages 8 years old and up; 9 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Grandella the Gray Fox
10:30 am Pickens County Public Library
In this program presented by Kevin Smith of the Upper Etowah River Alliance, children in grades K-2 will learn about the life of a young gray fox and how a healthy environment affects all creatures. A craft project is included. Space is limited; registration is required.


Wednesday, June 26
F-O-S-S-I-L-S!
10:30 am Rose Creek Public Library
3:00 pm Hickory Flat Public Library
We’re bringing fossils to the library courtesy of the Tellus Science Museum. Children ages 7-12 can join us as we see dinosaur fossils up close, learn how they were made, and then make our own fossil craft! Space is limited; registration is required. For ages 7-12; 9 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Thursday, June 27
Flower Pot Decorating
3:00 pm Pickens County Public Library
Budding gardeners are invited to get creative with flower pots. Flower pots and art materials will be provided. All ages are invited. Space is limited; registration is required.
 
Nancy Fangle, Balloon Lady
3:00 pm Gilmer County Public Library

Join the fun as the Balloon Lady helps us dig into reading with her amazing balloon art. All ages are invited to attend; 9 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
