If you enjoyed the Percy Jackson series, then you will find the Kane Chronicles series just as exciting. Book One, The Red Pyramid, details the first adventures of the brother-sister duo of Carter and Sadie Kane as they try to save their father and the world from the chaos-causing Egyptian god, Set. This story is full of excitement and non-stop action and includes a lot of Egyptian history and myths. It is also nice that the main characters come from a racially mixed family and are of opposite sex. The audio version of this story is great for family car trips.
