*All story times begin promptly at scheduled time; please arrive early to avoid any disruption. These programs feature books, songs and activities that encourage early literacy. Family story times are designed for families with children of all ages. Children must be accompanied by a participating adult. These programs often feature stories, music, rhymes and a free craft activity.

Monday, July 15

Face Flower Pots
3:00 pm Gilmer County Public Library
Join us as the Master Gardeners show us how to made face flower pots. This is a free program and all materials will be provided. Registration is required. This program is for ages 6 years old and up; 9 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Tuesday, July 16
Glow in the Dark Insect Hangers
10:00 am Gilmer County Public Library
Join us as we make glow in the dark insect hangers; this is a free program and all materials will be provided. Space is limited; registration is required. For ages 8 and up; 9 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
 
Catapult Competition
10:30 am Pickens County Public Library
Youth ages 8 and up are invited to show off their skills in constructing catapults using common materials. Once catapults are built, participants are welcome to compete to see which catapult can launch a small object the farthest. Prizes will be awarded in various categories. All materials will be provided.
 
Ribbon Bracelet Craft
2:00 pm Gilmer County Public Library
Join us as we make beautiful ribbon bracelets; this is a free program and all materials will be provided. Space is limited; registration is required. For ages 10 and up.

Wednesday, July 17
Puppets, Puppets Everywhere!
10:30 am R. T. Jones Memorial Library
Atlanta's Center for Puppetry Arts is bringing in some of their special puppet friends. We'll learn how puppets are made, how they work, and how they make us happy!All ages are invited; space is limited so come early to made sure you get a spot.

Project Wet
3:00 pm Woodstock Public Library
Discover how important our water system is through a variety of interactive activities and crafts thanks to the City of Woodstock's Environmental Manager! This program is most suitable for children ages 6 and older, but all ages are invited to attend. 9 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Thursday, July 18
Butterfly Metamorphosis
3:00 pm Pickens County Public Library
In this presentation by the Pickens County Master Gardeners, youth of all ages are invited to learn about the metamorphosis of a butterfly by making puppets. Food will be used to teach about different insect parts as well. Space is limited; registration in required.
 
Kris Reece, Karate Moves
3:00 pm Gilmer County Public Library
Come watch as Kris Reece talks about the martial arts and demonstrates some great moves. All ages are invited to attend; 9 and under must be accompanied by and adult.
