Mo Willems' new series, Cat the Cat, is an excellent choice for parents to read with their pre-K and younger children. Specifically, What’s Your Sound Hound the Hound? encourages parent and child participation and observation as Cat the Cat seeks out each of her animal friend’s sounds. Children will respond with the proper moos, peeps, and woofs. They will also use their imagination to think of what an animal who does not make a sound would sound like.
